I’m very happy today to announce my new FULL sponsorship with CTRL Industries.
We’ve been having a part sponsorship since the brand first started and now we have the chance to step up to a new level.
I was always a big fan of all CTRL’s products and always used to wear them, now I’ll also be wearing their gis and represent the company.

By the way, just got today a big box with a bunch of cool products!! The Rook II gi is just AMAZING!!

New York and Vegas win

The IBJJF New York Open was a great experience where I could show a good display of Jiu-Jitsu and submit my match to win the tournament closing out the bracket with my friend Andre Monteiro. I was very well trained since I had a great training camp with my friend Vicente Jr in his academy, Conquest Bjj.

One week later, I went to Vegas to compete the IBJJF Las Vegas Spring Open and also came back with the gold, this time closing out with my friend and teammate Osvaldo Augusto after a tough semifinal where I won by 2-0.

Now it is time to focus on Worlds. Training has been great and I can’t wait for May 13th, when we start our Worlds Camp!

2012 Pan American No-GI Champion

The Pan Ams no-gi was a great experience for me. Going all the way to New York where is a different time zone to fight is always a challenge. Thank God I had the support of my friends and I could prepare myself really well and the result came out well. I closed out my division once again with my friend and teammate Osvaldo Augusto “Queixinho”, which makes me really happy since it proves that our work is going really well!

Next stop, Worlds No-gi in Long Beach! OSS

3 x National Gi and No-gi Champion

The American Nationals was once again a great put up by IBJJF and I had the pleasure to be there competing and thank God winning my divisions for the third year, gi and no-gi. I had many tough fights but I was really prepared for this and I was blessed with those wins. Also, I did the Open division and end up getting 3rd place in both, gi and no-gi.

Looking forward to my next challenge and keeping up the hard training. OSS

2012 American Cup

The American Cup took place in San Josรฉ, California, this past weekend and it was great. Me and my teammate Osvaldo Augusto “Queixinho” took 1st place in our weight classes. We usually fight in the same weight class, but this time, he moved up to Lightweight so we could try to score more points and eventually win the team trophy, WE MADE IT! I won the Featherweight division where I had two fights and submitted both of them while Queixinho won his match in the Lightweight division by points. In general, our team did really good and we got 1st place overall in the adult division.

Next, Long Beach Spring Open on May 12th! Oosssss
