2x Pan Ams NoGi Champion

The 2013 Pan Ams NoGi was great. I had an amazing week prior the tournament teaching and training at my friends Vicente Jr’s academy in Maryland, Conquest BJJ, with my teammates Osvaldo Queixinho and Caio Terra.

After all the hard work the result could not be different, once again, for the second year in a row, me and my teammates dominated the black belt featherweight division and we closed out the bracket after each of us win our fights.

Good day for CTBJJA!!!

8X American National Champion!!

The American Nationals is always a very excited tournament, and this year was no different. Our team went to Carson-CA strong with 14 competitors bringing home more than 20 medals!

I closed out the featherweight division with my teammate and friend Osvaldo Queixinho in both, Gi and No-Gi, after submitting my fights with a brabo choke and rear naked choke.

In the Open Class, I took third place in both, Gi and No-Gi. After win my fights via toe hold and other by 5-0, I lost tough matches by points on the semis.

Overall, 4 medals brought home!! Now 4x Gi and 4x Nogi what makes me 8x American National Champion!!!

Vegas Open 2013…. 4x Chantre!

As usual, the Las Vegas International Open was a great tournament.

Thank God I was able to win my 4th title in a row at featherweight and also close out the Open Weight division with my teammates which makes me really happy to see that title remaining here with us for the 4th consecutive year.

New York and Vegas win

The IBJJF New York Open was a great experience where I could show a good display of Jiu-Jitsu and submit my match to win the tournament closing out the bracket with my friend Andre Monteiro. I was very well trained since I had a great training camp with my friend Vicente Jr in his academy, Conquest Bjj.

One week later, I went to Vegas to compete the IBJJF Las Vegas Spring Open and also came back with the gold, this time closing out with my friend and teammate Osvaldo Augusto after a tough semifinal where I won by 2-0.

Now it is time to focus on Worlds. Training has been great and I can’t wait for May 13th, when we start our Worlds Camp!

2012 Pan American No-GI Champion

The Pan Ams no-gi was a great experience for me. Going all the way to New York where is a different time zone to fight is always a challenge. Thank God I had the support of my friends and I could prepare myself really well and the result came out well. I closed out my division once again with my friend and teammate Osvaldo Augusto “Queixinho”, which makes me really happy since it proves that our work is going really well!

Next stop, Worlds No-gi in Long Beach! OSS

3 x National Gi and No-gi Champion

The American Nationals was once again a great put up by IBJJF and I had the pleasure to be there competing and thank God winning my divisions for the third year, gi and no-gi. I had many tough fights but I was really prepared for this and I was blessed with those wins. Also, I did the Open division and end up getting 3rd place in both, gi and no-gi.

Looking forward to my next challenge and keeping up the hard training. OSS
